Type 2 diabetes also known as non insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) or adult-onset diabetes since is normally diagnosed in adults. It’s the most common diabetes as studies shows that those who have diabetes majority have type 2.Statistics shows that majority of those diagnosed with diabetes are men. It comes about when glucose level piles up in the blood system when the body is unable to utilize insulin effectively.
Many studies have shown a link between diabetes and depression. Patient with type 2 diabetes are advised to avoid depression at all cost because it can lead to adverse Glucose Control. It will be a wise decision to seek help for depression. Depression plays a role on how well to control sugar level in blood. Also those who are obese have high risk of diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes may be prevented or controlled through diet and exercise, but some patients need insulin or other medications. Type 2 diabetes is more common in African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, and Asian Americans as well as the aged people. Being diagnosed with diabetes is not easy but don’t worry, some people with diabetes lead a healthy life, happy live and live long too, so you don’t a reason to panic.
If you have diabetes, be aware of the risks of these complications. Such as cardiac arrest and strokes which call for emergency medical attention. Be aware of symptom and how to curb the same. It is also important to educate people around you just incase you are weak for quick action to save your life. Type 2 can cause two stumbling blocks right away: – your cells may be lack energy and over time high glucose levels in blood may hurt your eyes, kidneys, nerves or heart.
